Hi all,
This week we’re looking for your favourite sculptures.
If you share an example and provide artist name, the name of the piece of art and why you like it, you might get a star post!
Here’s an example to start.
This sculpture is by Henry Moore and is called Two Piece Reclining Figure. You’ll get to see it at Kenwood. I like sculptures as they can be seen outdoors and can look different depending on the light and weather.
We’ve looked at this sculpture and it amazed us and puzzled us. We would like to find out more things about it for example: What is it made of? When was it made? How was it made? Why did he choose to make it? Was it originally in 2 pieces – or did it break? Who is the reclining woman? What types of shapes was he thinking about when he made it because its all kind of swirly and not a particular shape? Can we climb on it!
Oh I wasn’t so sure what it was but now I know what it is.
HI Abubakar,
Could you tell us what you think it is?
The sport looks amazing but I would not do it myself though!
I think it is a sculpture by Henry Moore who was born in July 30th 1898 and died 1986
STAR POST
Hi Abubakar,
Well done. You’ve taken the time to research the sculpture and then kindly shared your information with all of us so we could learn more.
Keep up the hard work.
WOWSERS, ABUBAKAR!!!! Well done, I love it!! it is taking my mind away from the glitter. I LOVE STARS!!!!!!!!
IT IS SO PRETTY,
From Jada
I think it is made out of bronze and it looks like it has been cut in half not broken in half. I don’t think it looks like anything, only swils and pattens.
I think it is cut in half or twisted in a weird way.I think it is dyed or paintted but it is probably bronze or metal.
I have always wanted to be part of the Olympics and when I see this sculpture it makes me feel very sporty and makes me think about my future.
The sculpture is so tall and intresting to me it looks a bit like a really scary roller-coaster
ride. The person who deseined it must of been very clever.

Congratulations Abubakar. Well deserved.
I really like this painting because the dog looks like it is helping its master because he has been washed up.It is by Landseer.
I love this portrait by the amazing Landseer. I am a massive animal lover. I think it is a
stunning picture of the deer walking up the tall misty mountain. I think it’s the best way to show of the animal kingdom.
I really like this painting because it would have a great story behind it and I really like the background.
i like this sculpture because its very clever and blue
