    1. He wrote, “..I feel like a room closing in and I feel like there is nothing inside my heart..” for those who can’t read it.

    2. Hi Omar,

That’s a fabulous simile “like a room closing in”… it really captures Rembrandt’s pain.

I hope you’re proud of your work. You should be.

    1. Hi Maryama,

This is a powerful diary entry. I like the question you ask at the end …it captures Rembrandt’s frustration.

      Keep up the hard work.

    2. Well done Maryama!

We were doing those letters today and only a few people added a bit about the wife dying

  1. I admire all the emotion expressed in Cairo’s diary. I especially like how he asks his imaginary reader questions to express his shock and disbelief.

    1. Hi Cario,

Thank you for sharing your writing with us.

I like your colloquial expressions “In truth” and your writing recognises Rembrandt’s desire to be remembered as a great artist.

      Keep up the hard work.

    1. Me and my class have also been working on Rembrandt we got to try on a red dress (like the one Rembrandt is wearing in the painting)and read out are diary entires.I thought it was really fun!

  2. This is Betty’s diary entry for Rembrandt. I really enjoyed the character she created, imagining that she was Rembrandt. He may be ill and unhappy, but he certainly hasn’t lost any self-belief…!
