  1. Life ain’t always perfect:
Though it sometimes may seem like the world is going to end.
It doesn’t mean we break or bend.
For life is made up of mistakes,
we have to learn and press onto our brakes.
There may be splinters and holes along the way,
but we can’t just run away.
Life is a book and every single page is different.
So, hang onto the ride and don’t YOU let go.

Hey, I’ve made mistakes in life too.
I ain’t perfect , let me not mistake you.
Sometimes I look at the mirror and say, ‘girl , there is no way YOU achieve this but then I look again and think ‘actually I am more than capable to do it, if they can, I can too’
Now, the point is, you have to find a certain way in life to achieve, because you can’t just sit there all day and dream…Life has it’s difficult ways.

    1. The poem I wrote below is for the big identity poem competition and I am entering for it from here. Hope you like it!

  2. The Levels Of My Game
Level 1 of my game is Family,
From Sunday Dinners to Fish Friday,
Every night we go from praying,
    To lying in bed,
Family is kind of like a game,
You never know what might happen next,
    Sometimes family can be rough
    Sometimes family can be tough
That’s Level 1 Of My Game!

Level 2 Of My Game Is Risky
    You might not believe me,
But life is about taking risks,
    It’s a bit like a disk,
    It goes on forever,
    Then eventually it stops,
    That could happen to you,
So live life to the fullest,
Never be hurt by what pulls,
That Level 2 Of My Game!

Level 3 is the last level,
    It is love,
Love others as they love you,
Never hate others even if they hate you,
    Never be downhearted,
    Never be ashamed,
    Just love and love again,
THOSE ARE THE LEVELS OF MY GAME!

  3. Where I come from

I’m from hot sandy beaches and massive crystal waves.
From open windows all day and night.
From packed hotels to nice nights out.
From cuddling koalas to tackling tigers,
From having fun in the sun to eating burgers with friends and family.
From eating early in the morning to climbing trees which is fun.
Where I am from is special, unique because we only have one state.
    And that state is Australia.

  4. Football By Azad

I want to be a footballer
    football is a famous sport
    I love playing football
I have to work hard to achieve my goal

  5. The Final Piece to my Puzzle
    Dinner Time:
    When its dinner time,
Everybody sits down mums in the kitchen still cooking,
    Everybody’s stomach grumbling,
When mum brings in the food,
    Everybody digs in,
They shove food in their mouth,
While its hot. Mum starts shouting and yelling,
Burning your mouth but not spitting it out,
    Everyone laughing and chatting
, Mum getting angry for talking while eating,
Dad stuffing his face on the last minute,
That’s my family dinner what’s yours like?
    Beach Day;
    Getting up at night,
    Packing towels and swim suits,
    Mum checking the house,
To make sure everything is ok,
    While dad packs the car,
The kids go in and fight the whole way through,
    When were at the beach,
The little cousins play in the sand,
While the grown-ups talk and argue,
Crying about who goes in the water first,
    What’s your beach day?

  6. The pages to my book:
Every single page of me is different.
Some are torn and some have missing words
Like when I didn’t know what to do and was
Stressed out with all the work.

Some pages are drenched with tears that had
Fallen but most pages are covered with drawings of me
And my family. I will never let go of them, like a bookmark
Holding on tight to my book. My sibling’s relationship with me
is like a puddle of words, sometimes jumbled up and sometimes in
neat lines however my love for my mum and dad will never
be torn out of y book. My family page is glued on tightly, tighter
    than a knot.

The aiming high chapter in my book is covered with words, every
Word as equally important as the other. This page is divided into four equal parts. Smiles, achievements, worries and tears.
A book I once read wrote ‘It is not about the winning that counts, it is the
taking part. I am always trying my best but sometimes it doesn’t go exactly
to plan but It’s okay not to be okay and feel pain because if you believe yourself, you will achieve a lot. On times when I’m feeling down in the dumps
I think; who am I? Who is the person reading my book? What is the next chapter yet to come? So, there is only one way to find out, just keep reading…

  7. The Pieces to my Puzzle

    My puzzle is not simple.
I have good times but also bad times too
    And fun times as well
When we go fun places with my family and spend time together
Every birthday we have, we celebrate it together
My puzzle isn’t always easy and isn’t always fun
I have bad times like when my grandad passed away
    And when lockdown came
    My puzzle is very difficult
Sometimes me and my siblings argue and fight and I can’t find the right pieces

I am from Cyprus which is a very hot country
The land is as hot as the sun
It has plants and trees through the country
When we visit Cyprus ,we meet all our cousins
The beaches are sunny and I like swimming in the sea.
I like that it’s always hot and we go out to fun places
When it’s night it’s still hot when we sleep.
    We get bitten by bugs(sometimes)
    My puzzle is not simple.

  8. Why I’m here

I am grateful for my life
    And I wouldn’t waste it
I love my family and my friends
I will have my ups and downs
But my friends and my family help me
    I will get back up
No matter what because they got me and I got them.

  9. All about me

I like to cook and bake
I like to draw and play
    My hobby is to sleep
    And my favourite colour
    Is blue

    I don’t like going shopping
    Mum takes too long
    She spends an hour there
After when she says let’s go
I feel very tired and don’t
    Want to move

I like going on road trips
    With my family
    It’s really fun
    We always play board games
    Our favourite is monopoly
    I always win
    With my special skills

  10. The Environment Community
    By Khalid

I’m sorry to say this to you,
Why do you guys throw your garbage?
Why are there bins for no reason?
    Come on people!
The people in Islington don’t need to clean your rubbish,
    Come on people!
Take your rubbish from the floor,
Even when they don’t throw It,
    They take it
    Come on people!
Don’t make it the end of our life!
    This is our community
    We should keep it safe
    This is our home
    Where we live
    Nothing before and after
We don’t have time to waste
We have to keep it safe
    Let’s keep it safe
    For all of us
    The environment is dying
    Come on people!
    Let’s keep our community safe.

  11. My Arcade Game

Life for me is like an arcade game.
I don’t know what the next level is,
I don’t know what challenges I will face.
I know there will be times of crying and quitting
But I know that I have to keep on going.
I will try and try till I reach the end.
And when I lose I can start of from where I left off.
I know I have my family to help me get through,
    Supporting me, cheering me on
You need a plan to get through

Life for me hasn’t been easy,
    And I’m not perfect.
I live in a crowded city called London
And I have moved school and left all my friends behind
My family is kind and they help me all the time
I don’t know what I’d do without them
    And my mum told me
You know that if you try you will get through. You can’t win without giving it your best shot!

  14. “IDENTITY”

I have many sides but which one is mine
I go by many different names but which one is mine?
I hear so many voices my own was lost years ago
My memories feel like a stranger’s

I can’t seem to remember people I am supposed to know
I feel like I am going crazy yet therefore it all just a show my heart is
Going numb from all the pain I feel constantly and searching, the more I am losing myself entirely

  15. At Home.
Written By Syrah Lisa Langley Bradshaw

    When I am bored,
    I like to sing,
    But to scared
    To express my feelings.

    Too scared to do this
But to scared to do that,
However, most of all I have to change the way I act.

    Athleticism from Dad
    Brown eyes from Mum,
    I like to run,
To release the pain when I am mad,
    And after that ,
    I feel glad.

  16. WHO I AM
    By Mushaf Adan
    My family works hard,
    to pay the bills;
    Everyone is just trying to feed their child;
Life isn’t always a straight line,
you might go left or right.
You’ll never know what you will experience.
We will only get through this together.

    I like football,
    and I work hard,
to achieve the dream I want,

    I am a young boy,
    From Somalia;
We should work hard to get to the top.
SO NEVER GIVE UP AND ALWAYS AIM HIGH.

  17. TO MAKE OUR WORLD BETTER
By Shian Emma Dian Dichardinai Gardner

    Let’s treat people the same,
    To make our world better;
    No making fun of people,
    about their own skin colour;
It doesn’t matter if your white or black,
As long as someone has your back.

To make our world better we can face challenges,
    We can take risks,
But searching for solutions won’t be easy,
Even if you are a different culture,
    Different race,
    Or a different gender;
    Just remember,
    You are you,
And that’s what makes our world a better place.

  19. RIVER POEM
    BY LUCAS

    Sometimes it goes up.
Sometimes it goes down but we should all aim to get to the top,
We should all help each other,
whenever we see our brothers we help one another

    Life is like a lift,
    Sometimes it goes up.
Sometimes it goes down but we should all aim to get to the top,
We should all help each other,
    Whenever we see or brothers,
    We should help one another

You know that your mind will start chasing
Racing to hold down your heart
After all it is there to protect it
    Ever from breaking apart

    We all have different journeys,
    different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn something
To learn something but never meant to say…
    We learn from our mistakes,
From the wrong turns we take,
From the fake friends we make,
And from that time we almost break.

Imagine a pig in a big purple wig
Imagine a car in shape of a star
Imagine a bear in purple underwear just imagine how many cool things there are!

  20. A POEM DARK AND GRIMM [well, sort of.]

    By Irfan

There once was a kid who said one day
I wanna go to space hip hip hooray!
He had autism and liked to run
The name of the kid was irfan
    Irfan the incredible
He knows that mario and sonic rule
One day when the time turns back
    He knows he wouldn’t slack

He said he wants to go to the moon
And he knew he would get there soon
He told this to his mum and dad
    But the aftermath was bad
    Irfan the incredible
He knows that every fifa game drools
One day when the football strikes back
He knows he would be the snack.

    Suddenly Irfan realised
    The aftermath was exercise
The poor boy’s courage shot right down
When the copycats and brats came to town
    Irfan the incredible
He knows that Alton Towers rule
One day when the time turns back
He’d give the brats a smack

The boy fell asleep and in his dream
His iffy troops were standing there with a beam
They said”don’t let yourself be controlled
    Or rotten you into mould”
    Irfan the incredible
He knows that all his iffy troops rule
Now when the time turns back
His courage will be his knack

The exercise came with the copycats and brats
But then they said”uh oh!””oh drat!”
For irfan was holding a baseball bat
And away went the annoying stuff
Now his courage grows and grows
Because when it rained he found a rainbow
Irfan’s next trip was a trip to mars
Because when it was dark he looked for
    stars

  21. Sir Richardson Seeds

“Life is not like a rainbow, there isn’t a pot of gold at the end, only a coffin.”
Is what him said before he dropped dead
He used to be a amazing model citizen,
but now he lives in the garden shed
I ask my mother about him but all she says,
“Don’t worry about him, he’s certainly dead.”
But at dawn, I see him dragging a shovel around the garden shed

I visit his grave each day and it reads:
    “Sir Richardson Seeds”
    But it does not mention,
Not one of his good deeds.

He was treated as an outcast to his family,
When they saw his corpse, rotting dead
    Not one tear they shed
They dragged his body to the river
    And taken to the morgue

That is the story of Sir Richardson Seeds
Despised by his family but admired by me

  22. The culture of me,

    By Sihaam Warsame
My life is like the Earth orbiting,
    Once people stop talking,
    Life gets boring,
Yet there’s something that keeps curing.

    Bariis and moos,
    Cooking together,
    Going to Mosque,
    Celebrating Eid,
    Helping people in need,
The culture of me,which you can see.

  23. Where’s my identity?
    By Inaya Ahmed

    Life is like a puzzle,
    Sometimes easy sometimes hard,
I may look perfect on the outside,
    But i’m not,
    I get my brown eyes,
    Black hair from my dad,
    when someone annoys,
    I get really mad,

I try to never give up,
    I live a good life,
    With everything i want,
I try to never give up,
People might wonder who i am,
And this is what i tell them,
    I know i live,
    A good life,
    Not always easy,
    but i try my best,
    Who are you?

  25. Where am I

I am the house no one wants.

I am the light switch that doesn’t work

I am the light that doesn’t glow.

I am the broken chair in the corner of the room.

I am the place no one goes.

I am the thing that doesn’t fit in.

I am the demon that haunts you when you sleep.

  26. There are many
    Cha-llen-ges of life.
Such as arguments, and sharp kitchen knives.

But when the challenges are thrown at ME,
I get back up and tell them to flee!

    You are smart and a-ma-zing
So when the challenges come, beat them and sing.

If you do what I do, the challenges will run.
So you can get back to your life, and have fun!

They will never come back, whatever the time
So you will not have to worry, and be fine!

  27. MY WEIRD COMMUNITY

Once I thought live was fair ,
but now I know that’s not anywhere,
It’s just not fair when people are rude,

Life with my family is joyful and it’s delighful I love life.

  28. My family is very kind,

I love my Mum and Dad more than anyone in the world,
    They love me.

  29. BEHIND THE CLOSED DOORS
    By Chloe Joany Clark

Behind the closed doors there you see,
A little girl who is me,
I might look normal on the outside to you ,
But when you walk in it will feel like a boo.

She still doesn’t understand which world is real,
Is it the one where mum struggles with the bills?
Life ain’t like no dream to be,
Cause all it is is struggles for me.

Yet you can make a difference,
    And clear up your incidents,
    From me to you,
    That’s your only clue.

  30. The Importance of Communities

    Community is important,
    Community is special,
If you’re part of a community, you’re not alone,
Here and there, Wherever you are,
    You won’t be alone,
As long as community is there for you,
    When time is ticking,
    And all seems lost,
    Join a community,
So the community will always be there for you,
    If you’re at you’re home,
Don’t just sit there and do nothing,
Help your community and they will help you.

  32. The outside world
    By halima sharif
    You may think ,
    The outside world,
Is like cupcakes and rainbows ,
    But that’s in the past;
When everyone was friends and they worked together to accomplish their dreams,

Now people are horrible and rude,
    We’re in the dark,
Discriminaition of girls not being able to play sport,
Or made to feel less as life is so short,
    The fact,
    There’s more poor people then rich ;
It’s unbelievable to think people get treated like rubbish,

Life is now like a rainy dark day,
I just wish life really was like,
    Cupcakes and rainbows.

  33. Your Day

    Made by Arafat Aman Kadir

    Once there was you,
You lived the same day repeating over and over again,
You wanted to try new things so you did,
You played with new things and more things,
But it was something you didn’t want to do,
You wanted to do things you actually wanted to do!
So you went away to see the world,
That’s what you actually wanted to do,
    Once you came back home,
When you finished looking around the world,
You had a big smile on your face!
And that’s why you should always try something new.

  34. Hard is Life
    By Nada Al-Kiswani

    Hard is life,
When we talk its name we hear it rule,
But sometimes it can be really cruel.

Yet it’s not all that bad,
    It helps me get less mad;
You may see me as your class clown,
But when I work hard in school I get the golden crown.

That is not the only thing that helps me,
It’s also my friends and my community
But sometimes it dont go all right
And can give me a bit of a fright
Yet i never give up on that
And the next day I find myself having a friendly chat.

Giong to Arsenal and seeing the crowds,
    But when i go to sleep it can be loud;
My passion is riding my bike ,
    because that’s what i really like;
The only thing that puts me down, is that my path always doesn’t have lights,
    And is hard when i get into fights;
    But i calm myself down,
And get rid of my frown.

Now you see me all happy again
Now you see me hanging out with all my friends.

So when life gets hard and you have a bad day ,
Just remember there will be something that will help find your way.

  36. Train Track
    BY: HUSNA ZENCIRKIRAN

My life is like a train track,
It’s not straight because there’s turns,
Sometimes on trains I get sick,
Sometimes it’s fun because i’m on a journey

When I was on the train,
    I saw a person with a gurney,
    After that,
A little boy was talking about planes,
    Saying,
‘It can stroke your back and relieve your pain,
And charm the whistle off an evening train
‘Brown and blue and white and black,
All one colour on the one-way track’

    Train track,
    Train track,
I sometimes wish I can get off the train,
    I sometimes get dizzy,
(If only I didnt have travel sick),
And everytime I try to talk to Lia,
    She always says she’s busy!

I always want to go home,
    But then I will realise,
That I will be left all alone!

  37. Weather Falls

Our life is like the weather falls,
Cause we never know what it can cause,

It could be sunny with smiles on are face,
It could be cold with a boring day,
Or It could be rain where we wished that we were in a better place.

We see are lives like a ray of golden sun,
    But there are some days where a tornado can come;
Eventually you will work through your troubles,
And find yourself in a completely new bubble.

So whenever you land on a rainy day,
Remember you will always find a way.

  39. My Family By Tyler Teddy Murdoch

I have brown eyes that I got from my mum,
I’ve been talking ever since I was one.
I got my skills in maths from my dad,
    He’s such a lad,
    he got me into football,
    Now I’m good,
    and every time I play,
    There he stood,
    In the windows,
    or in the park,
in the light or in the dark.
I love him and my mum,
I’ve ever since I was one.
I was small and now I’m long,
I was weak and now I’m strong,
and I don’t want to do them wrong,
so I’m writing something close to a song.
I love my mum, and home,
    is where I belong!

  40. RUINS

    BY Mostafa HANTOUR

Life is like a highway, there are no shortcuts,
When you realise there are no second chances .
    Make a wish,
But it will never come true,
There is never a life of luxury
Because everyone has got a problem.
    Life is like a flower,
    You always die.

Trying to avoid sadness is trying to avoid life.

  41. A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

    Life is freedom to me,
    Because without life,
    It is a different story.

It might look like a young boy in his dream,
    But don’t be fooled.
People might be different to me

I always in a different dream
When your family works so hard

  42. ALL MY LIFE By Ahmed

    Life is like an exam,
Sometimes you fail sometimes you pass
Sometimes you get frustrated in class
    To release the pain,
Make sure you use your wise brain

Life is like a present dream
It gives you a high to scream
    Life is a challenge,face it
    Life is a dream,realize it
    Don’t wait for tomorrow
    Do it all today
    If tomorrow never comes
You will never regret a day

Life is but a stopping place
In pause of what to be
A resting place along the road,
    To sweet eternity

Life is young but also old but never know you’re going to live the next day
But at least you might of went the right way

Having another day just makes you want to dream
And having a group of friends make you a team

When it’s dark I want to sleep
When I’m sleeping I dream of a sheep
    When it’s dawn,
    I have a big yawn

    When I wake up
    I found a baby with a cup,
    As it grew,
It had a lot to do

The boy became smarter and smarter.
    And tried harder and harder.

    When coming to an end, it will be tough;
    When you grow old your skin becomes rough;
    When you wake up you feel a little tingle;
When you wake up your toes will have a little wriggle.

  43. Life is a Roller coaster
    By Liyana Amin

    Life is a roller coaster,
When the ride starts, everyone is excited and happy,
When it ends, everyone is sad and upset.
This roller coaster has spins and loops everywhere,
However, they make you feel sick and scared.

    Although,
    Sometimes it fun and fast,
    But then,
Soon that excitement will be the past,

    And then,
The bumps and turns will strike again,
    But hang on!
    Don’t be afraid!
Even though it goes on and on,

Soon it will all come to an end…

  52. MY FOOT PRINTS IN LIFE

My prints, I’ve been brought up in a
Half Irish and half African family before
When I was born, my father had a kid (my brother)
But not with my mother; with another women (sigh). It’s complicated I know.
Just recently my mother and father have split up.
It turns out that my they were not very happy together but they held out for most of my childhood.
    Unfortunately, it’s happened before
(when I was 6 or 3) Recently I’ve been really into hunting because I have been playing a videogame called Hunter call: of the wild.
I’ve always fort against racism. I have a saying, life is like a new pair of shoes you never know how there going to feel or fit. To my mother and father

  54. Went for a holiday trip with my mum

    Went shopping with my mum
Found out that she took so long
Waited for her but couldn’t find her anywhere
Thought to myself about what took her so long
I got so angry so I stomped off…

    Planned going to the beach
But it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to
There was no space to pack our stuff
Tried chunking everything but couldn’t figure where to pack them
Everyone excited to go in but didn’t turn the way we wanted it to
Everyone was sad, angry and upset for not going
Got judged and humiliated by our neighbours
Got told that we are poor when we aren’t
Still can’t forget it till this day and will never!

Went to a party with my mum
But found all my family was invited and left without us
Ordered an UBER but it was an hour late
Finally, it had arrived and we reached to the hotel on time
When we went, we couldn’t find all my other family
Found an old friend but she had gone
Looked behind me but couldn’t find my mum

  55. The pieces of my puzzle.

    I like to swim.
    I like football.
    I love my family.
Life is full of fun times and big feasts with your family.
Life is a mystery with new things yet to be discovered.
I am not like you, you see I have my own identity.
I am only ten and I will be eleven in three months.
But oh boy do I know we will all die.
Life is not forever, so don’t think you are immortal.
Life is like a puzzle, you must complete it…

  56. Whats inside me?

As I fall my world starts to crumble while my mind starts to rumble,
Now when I look back all I see are my friends and family cheering me on and staring back at me.
But I recall all the family dinners we had each Sunday night,
Or the trips to the beach where the sun shouts down on you lighting yourself on fire,
Where mum and dad argue over a popped tire.
So why give up so soon?
    Why let go now?
I should not give up on my way up there because when you have family that will help you with what to do,
You will always find what’s inside you.
