Hi all,
Could you leave your thoughts on the Writing through Art project here?
You could tell us what you most enjoyed and how it could be improved.
Michael.
over the past five weeks we have been doing writing though art .in writing though art we have been looking at five paintings also we have been debaiting and discusing on the paintings we have been debaiting on the painting our london it is about a rich side a brige and the poor side and debaiting which side will be better to live in. at the end of the lesson we went to kentwood house to look at those five paintings we were looking at in person and talked more about thr paintings. i think that writing though art was a really nice subject.
my favourite painting was the giuter player because it was really intresting becuse she is looking to the left and no one knows why she is looking at the left and it is fun becuse you just keep on gessing and never know what it is .
This topic we have done a topic called Writing Through Art.We did five paintings,we analysed them, debated and descused about them,we have also been discovering and giving opinions. At the end of the prodect,we went to kenwood house. I thought it was a great project.
My favourite painting was Tollemache because I liked the detail and how the artist made it look realistic and wonderful. This painting is about a wizard called Prospero and his daughter called Marainda. Also, Prospero captures the witches son called Calaban and Calaban now is Prospero’s slave.
I thought Kenwood House was great because the pictures were super interesting and I totally recemend this to another class.
Me and my class have been doing a project called Writing Through Art . We were observing and analsing paintings and debating about the paintings during lessons. For the conclusion of the project, we went to Kenwood House , where Helen had me captivated from start to finsh .
My favourite painting was the Guitar Player by Vameer beacause it makes you wonder about who or what is she looking at ,my class and me were debating on who or what she was looking at . It made me create a problem in my mind that I could solve in any way I like. The painting is about a girl who is playing the guitar while looking a different direction .
The trip to Kenwood House was really fun ,it was very cool seeing the paintings in real life and also seeing some that I’ve never seen before .I saw five paintings altogether four with my group and the last one with everyone .The ones I saw with my group was the Guitar Player ,John Joesph Merlin ,Our London and View From Highgate Hill and the one we done altogether was Tollemach.
I would totally recommend this project to other kids and schools because it’s really fun to learn about people and the art they have done .
Over the past 5 weeks, my class and I have been doing a project called Writing Through Art. We were analysing 5 paintings and we discovered lots of new and wonderful things like many famous paintings and people. We were also identifying different pieces of the painting and connecting them. It ended at Kenwood House on our very, very far trip. I learnt that you can spot lots of unexpected things in one painting.
My favourite painting is the John Joseph Merlin painting, by Gainsborough, because it is very amazing that he invented lots of mindblowing machines that are automated and mechanical. I enjoyed the activity which was making an advertisment about some of the things that John invented. He was a great pioneer and it was fun to learn about him.
I would absolutely recommend this to children because they will have lots of fun and learn a lot.

It was fun because we had a trip to Kenwood house and we had a tour and all of the paintings and they where bigger than we saw them from the big screen .

I liked that we can describe the picture however we wanted to . I also liked that we had to guess the picture in stages.
I also liked that at Kenwood House we could see the pictures close-up and that we could gain more knowledge about the pictures.

First of all, let me thank you for downloading power points to show us paintings that we didn’t know about. Thanks Mr Michael Walsh.

I really love writing through art because you get to use your imagination and there is no right or wrong answer because it is a painting. I also loved going to Kenwood House
and seeing the paintings in real life. When we were in Kenwood House the tour takers that took us around talked more about the paintings and in more detail. Its really good to make a website like this so other schools can join in, be creative and imagination is free!

Writing through art was really fun and we hope we can do it again sometime. We liked the inventor Joseph Merlin how he invented the skeleton clock and roller skates. We hope year 3 like writing through art so bye.

I think that this journey of writing through art has built up my confidence because you can share your opinions and in art there is no right or wrong. Also, I exceptionally loved the fact that we looked at 100 years piece of art! I enjoyed that really much.
Second of all, I think that the future year fours should have writing through art because it’s a big opportunity for some people who can try and build up their confidence.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH MR WALSH!

I liked that at Kenwood house we could actually see pictures which were at least 300 years old and it felt so special to see how the painters would turn a blank page into a magnificent work of art.
I think it is a great way to show that people have different opinions and there is no right answer when it comes to opinion.

What we liked about writing through art is that:
* we got to use our imagination and create different things about the picture.
*we also liked the inventors and the people who painted the pictures.
*we liked the tour of Kenwood House because it took our imagination from the past.
*we also liked the adventurous time of guessing the pictures.
*we liked the paintings because it was colourful.
In our opinions we suggest other people on ” writing through art” because it helps to make our imaginations investigate the pictures and it help make people creative.

I really enjoyed the Writing Through Art project because it made me think outside the box and the fact that nobody knew that much about the painting meant that there was no right or wrong answer. another fun thing was that we got to visit Kenwood House and learn a lot more about each painting and getting to see the paintings in real life. I am really grateful to have this experience! Thank you!
Thank you Michael Walsh for making us feel free about what we are writing and I`m sure that the year threes will be happy moving in year writing about the blog and they can rely on you to post their work on the internet so over children can comment on it. THANK YOU!!!!

I like writing through art because your thoughts are never right or wrong. I also like writing through art because the information about the paintings was interesting to learn about and have fun tasks to do after. I most importantly loved John Joseph Merlin.
I like the bridge on the first painting when it crosses to both sides (the rich side and the poor side). I also like, in the second painting, when the village lady tried to hang up the clothes.

I liked it at Kenwood House when we saw the pictures in REAL LIFE. It was very, very realistic. When we looked at ‘Mrs Tollemache as Miranda’ it was very big. Other paintings, well, it was medium-sized.

Thank you for making Writing through Art.

We really liked the choice of paintings ,the bright colours , the interesting stories behind them and how we used our imagination to create our own version of the back story.
Israjennah & Cristian my favourite was John Joseph Merlin
We’re really lucky for our school to be chosen we give you all our thanks.

I am really delighted with this blog because imagination is free and you get to think for yourself. The paintings that we saw on the computer is so tiny comparing it to the Kenwood House paintings they are double the size. I think that the next year 3s should be on this blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
