  18. I really love this painting. It looks very realistic, it is detailed well and it is intelligent. It looks like an actual picture taken from the mountains or any high place. The water is so realistic. What an artist!

  19. Honestly, i found it extremely fascinating learning about this iconic painting. Learning about which side is rich and which is not. This ancient painting is so realistic, my classmates thought it was an image! Also, i would rather live on the left side because, who doesn’t need a bit of wealth in life?

  20. I like this painting because it looks like a photo. This was painted in the 13th Century.
I would like to live on the left side because on the right side there’s fights.

  21. i really like the painting because at the start i thought it was a photo but now i realised it is a painting. who did the ARTIST get it so realistic

  22. I personally would live on the right side because it looks very modern and fun

The left side is flooded and the houses are broken, the windows are smashed that’s why I would live on the right side.

    This painting is extremely fascinating.

It is made by a dutch artist named Claude De Joungh.

  23. I Like this painting because it has a rich side and a poor side i’ll be in rich side because it has a biger house

  24. Honestly, I really like the painting . I also can’t believe that houses and shops are on a bridge! Also i can see a golden and red scarf on a boat this means a funeral is happening . The painting looks so realistic and the river is beautiful .

    1. Thank you Aqsa for sharing the information. You’re right it is a funeral barge on the river probably carrying someone very rich. How do we know they might be rich?

  25. Old London Bridge by

    Claude de Jongh

is one of the most popular paintings. Painted in 1630, it is the work of the little-known Dutch artist Claude de Jongh (.1603–1663) and is considered his masterpiece

  26. I like the panting even though it is not my favourite I still like the life like people rowing the bots. I wonder haw the painter panted it so life like I thought it was a picture taken by some one.I enjoyed learning about the Old London Bridge.

    1. Thank you Shiloh. The artist did a sketch by the river and then returned home to Holland to finish the painting.

  27. Old London Bridge is a really realistic and lovely painting, Claude de Jongh is so skilled! In class we have learned about several details in the picture, such as the flagpoles of The Globe Theatre, the heads of criminals like Guy Fawkes displayed on the Bridge and how Claude has captured every single detail of 17th Century London. We learned the facts of the bridge, like how it was built in the reign of Henry VII and how it was built in memory of an Archbishop who was executed. WE also discussed the facts that are shown in the amazing art.

  28. We have really enjoyed studying this painting and learning about the history of Old London Bridge. This week we will be writing our persuasive letters to compel people to live on either the right or left side. We can’t wait to share it with you all!

  29. Today we learnt about rhetorical questions and we had a debate over which side we would rather live on. I would rather live on the left because they are wealthier. Even though the left side just has a wooden gate, we could pay guards. The right side has got rotten heads so I wouldn’t live there.

  30. a rhetorical question is something that doesn’t need an answer because the answer is obvious. 1 example is , is ‘Old London Bridge’ OLD?

  31. Today, we made a plan and drafted our persuasive speech using facts and opinions, persuasive language, rhetorical questions and statistics. We have to make them as interesting as we can and we will finish them off tomorrow.

  32. Today we drafted a persuasive speech about which side is better to live on. I would live on the left because they are more wealthy and on the right side when you wake up you look outside your window you would see heads on spikes so I would live left. 75 percent of houses contain rats on the right side so I would LIVE LEFT.
