My city has a lot faces . From Mikel and Luca / Duncombe Primary school. My city has a lot of faces, some can be found with a lot weakness comfortably sound with plenty sickness My city has a lot of faces. Come to My city because is kind of pretty. Come to my town and your frown will go upside down.
Vandalism, drugs, gangs and crime
and when you’re walking down the street you can hear the grime
It seems in this city that no one has time
but every dark cloud has a silver line
This is a verse from Aaron and Zahir from Gillespie school
My city has a lot of Football faces.
The teams and there home places,
the teams that have a lot of greatness.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Man city, Man Utd , Liverpool and Spurs.
These are my home places.
Our city has a lot of faces.
Warn out boroughs and warn out places.
People split up ’cause of their races.
The poor people frown in their terrible town ‘case they cant hear the sound of the graces.
Our city has a lot of faces…
this is a verse we made up to my city
My city has a lot of green spaces,
some can be wasted when we don’t clean up places,
floods all around but we help all the time,
when the sun comes down people play around , even though your not allowed, teenagers fight and punch faces
but still are parks are the greatest spaces.
My city has a lot of places
some can be found full of races
The poor would be found looking down with a frown in forgotten places
pleading whilst bleeding with rough faces
This is a poem by Amirah,Inaya and Meshaer
My city has a lot of faces
some can be found in different races
come to London to see the empty spaces .
London has lots of beef come on turn on the beat!
see my city has a lot of face
some can be found
in the bottom of the town
with a lot of grace
see I told you guys
London is famous for its pies !
I think George the Poet would like your use of slang. Try to consider how you finish poems. Your last words can leave the reader with something to think about.
My city has a lot of faces
Tall buildings with a lot of graces
But there are other places
Some forgotten places and some not
My city has a lot of faces
my city has a lot of faces
some are found in abandoned places
some are rich and some are poor
gore on the streets and pave
gang members fade away
when the happy dance and the angry maw
we realise some of us were never there before
My City has a lot of faces
Filled with unknown graces
Inside or out
They’re there without a doubt
Forgotten roads sit all day
As the children do their video play
Phones took over their mind
Cars crashed into their light
Allies ridden by gangsters
Trading out their drugs
Police handcuffed innocents
Filling their heads of love
My city has a lot of faces,
they’re in the street, they’re inside, they’re everywhere.
On big Ben they show the day.
My town is full of graces, my city has a lot of faces,
they leave a lot of traces, my city has a lot of faces.
My road has a lot of faces
some can be found under uncomfortable places,
and some can be found on top of roofs
flying away and leaving some white proof,
most will be behind glass
ready for the exam they are about to pass.
my city has a lot of faces
some familiar places
other peoples multicoloured braces
i see people on a diet
who want to cause a riot
others might like to be quiet
My city has a lot of faces
Worn out faces torn up places
I try to see the good side
So I bide my time I bide and bide and I see…
Blue hair faces
Spray painted places
All different races
Rainbow coloured braces
And I see no mater what race no matter what face
My city has a lot of faces,
a big community of places,
ever faces different,
every place different,
everyone has a different races,
I like my city because it has a lot different faces and places.
My house has a lot of places
some can be found under my strawberry lases
comfortably sound with a lot of faces
every place is different
every face is different
My house has a lot of places
My city, it`s a great place with different people,
Some small, some tall ,some weak, some strong,
However it does`t mater who you are, where you have grown up,
were you live it does`t matter who you are some are rich some are poor,
Modern houses or victorian houses,
some people with big heads some with small heads ,
London`s a mix some black some white ,
were both humans we have the same thing`s
big ben has four facesand we wave poor places.
my city has a lot of faces
i see people with green hair
people who look like rockstars
people with braces

My city has a lot of faces you could see different race you have different passion like every face. I have a city that is dangerous and some times thankfull.
When i walk across the street
many people i will meet
i will always hear their shuffling feet
of people that i am keen to greet
my city has a lot of faces
all living in different places
many of them are different races
but most of all they’re all jovial faces
the rich tend to catch peoples eyes
adorned in rubies and lapiz lazulis
some cameras may blink in wonderment as they pass
and there smiles seem to warm peoples hearts
the poor may not be dressed in rich attire
however they still fill our hearts with strong desire
to laugh and play with them all day
and fill me with a desire to stay
My city has a lot of faces
some can be found in different places
you can find in many graces
so come and lets find some equality
lead us to victory in this city
my city has a lot of faces
my city has a lot of faces
the poor the rich live in the same places.
diffrent races come to London with suitcases.
if you talk you can go for a walk.
if you interact you can listen to to the same track.
My city has a lot of faces,
Different cultures,
300 languages all in the same places,
Everyone different in there own way,
All the same and should be equally treated,
Together is what we should say,
My city has a lot of faces.
My city has a lot of faces
They come from a lot of places
Getting together for a big play street
Greeting as many people as they can greet
Shaking the hands of different people
Joining the church to build a new steeple
Helping old people cross the road
Switching your head to happy mode
My city has a lot of faces
My city has a lot of faces
some people come in different races
the sun cold be down in different places
but look up and down this place could be found in a different light
my city has a lot of faces
My city has a lot of faces,
and it has a lot of places,
full of people of different races,
some will be found full of hunger,
others will get more wealthy,
but in London we can work together
we can stop people being homeless.
My city has a lot of faces,
Black, white, orange, pink,
Whatever you like,
We’ve got it here in London.
There’s the rich, the poor,
And even though the rich get more,
We’re all the same,
Not just rich or poor.
People in their little bubbles,
Walking down the street,
Walking past people,
There’s people interacting,
There’s people who aren’t.
My city is,
Diverse,
Strong,
Unique,
And united,
Is yours?
My city has a lot of faces.
The poor the rich live in the same places.
Different races come to London with suitcases.
If you talk you can go on a walk.
If you interact you can listen to the same track.
Doesn’t matter if your poor and live on the floor.
Everyone has a heart so don’t split apart.
My city has a lot of faces,
a mixed variety of different races,
coming together to dance and meet,
tapping their feet to the feel of the beet the beat,
I see wealthy people along the street,
but they don’t even care to meet and greet the ones who don’t have enough to eat.
So if you live in London no mater what part come together to celebrate,
because the buildings don’t make London THE PEOPLE DO!
My city has a lot of faces,
has people who make others smile,
people love helping each other,
they will be there for you no matter what,
its the people who make my city not the buildings,
my city can bond together perfectly.
We are all different but all the same.
my city has a lot of faces,
some can be found in the beach of all places,
living in some sort of awkward tight spaces,
the sun always down in this freezing cold town,
but were all the same in very different ways,
my city has a lot of faces.
my city has a lot of faces,
you can see them in many places,
some could be found with many graces,
where they unit to find togetherness,
to seek equality for everybody,
my city has a lot of faces.
My city has a lot of faces
Some black some white
But the colour of your skin doesn’t reflect on who you’ve been
Despite the past ,we managed to reunite
Even when it’s rough, there’s always someone you will be keen to see
So many religions and even more languages
So take every opportunity to share, that you can manage
My city has a lot of faces
All different in there own way
But peace brings us together anyway
Kindness is a strange thing
Yet cherish it because it’s amazing
Equality for all is right here
So stay while you can and I promise there is always someone near
My city has a lot of faces
sometimes there’s crime the violent kind,
my city has a lot faces London is a elegant.
people like to wine, dine and shine,
some can be sad or glad but if we work together we can be a joyful city.
my city has alot of faces
in it are alot of races
the sun cloud be down in this partying town
but i see wealthy people walking on the street not even worrying about the homeless
this city is not made up of buildings
its the people that build up my city
even though there is alot of crime
its still a beautiful city
when you ask about the faces I see in this town
I see them all colours white mixed race and brown
I see them all religions I learn in R.E
they where headscarfes kippa all different to me
I don`t know where they live rich or poor
two sides of my city even places people ignore
But some times I see faces together as one
one big smiling face enjoying the sun
thousandsof communities just having fun
even block beef gangs but theres no need to run
stay where you are because people can change
the world doesnt need difference it needs variety and range
my city has a lot of faces
lots of them coming from peculiar places
people with differences and different races
My city has a lot of faces
Try to make up conversation
don’t waste your time with alliteration
look up and down and lost people will be found
my city has a lot of faces
sad people sitting all alone
they’d be much happier if you invited them home
get them too talk and see what there like
you’ll soon find out they’re very nice
if everyone starts to come together
there’d be less people on the end of their tether
a whole new society would form so quickly
and everyone would be a lot less sickly
riding alone on the way home is fun, but nicer with two
come and see if you please
London at ease
you’ll find its so nice if you look
if you need help you just have so say and someone will come to your aid
that’s all I can say try to look next day for the things you could do to help save
Hi Laurie, This is a promising poem with some lovely expressions. However I think you’d improve it further by maybe writing less and considering your choice of vocabulary further. I look forward to reading your next poem.
My city is full of gangs, crimes, knives and more,
But my city my also has so much to offer in beautiful places,
So many different faces like races, sporty faces and different types of faces
But it also has a dark side with gangs, fangs, crimes and this is my city
My city London,
My area has a lot of faces,
Wood Green with its knives, bustle and treats.
Homes, where the audio of tranquility and screams never meet.
Sleepless nights, trains overhead, a home without graces.
My area has a lot of faces.
My city has a lot of faces,
one in every five people live in dark and cold places.
Everyone else have parties and festivals,
A fusion of races.
Only half of the city lives with airs and graces.
The other half sleeping in uncomfortable spaces.
Masks and balaclavas concealing faces.
My city has a lot of faces.
My land has a lot of faces.
In Wood Green people have a lot of fleas,
And a disease called inconsistency.
All these people getting shanked is unbelievable.
It’s just not equal.
Mate, you need some milk and cereal.
My land has a lot of faces.
My city has a lot of faces,
Some can be found in damp, dark places.
Few go over the bridge of greateness,
most grow poor at different paces.
Petrified poor, hiding in the shadows,
hardly any got through the narrow.
Dirty streets, covered in litter,
all our lives are hard and bitter.
No tranquillity from the sun,
this city will have no funds.
My city has a lot of faces.
This is our poem from duncombe primary
My city has a lot of faces
Some are found in unforgettable places
Be grateful that god gave you faith
And remember that you are great.
I understand when George says ‘My City’ because that means that he is a Londoner and that he was probably born in London. It’s all about beautiful buildings. Also, expensive stuff in most building especially Jewellery shop.
They laugh, they scream
Telling me who to be
Spending too much time looking at limousines,
Wasting all their money as we speak,
Kids stay home for safety
Limits and time
Places around us where they committed a crime
But we hug each other
Say its OK.
Leave those problem for another day…
George, why in this poem do you want to talk about ‘My City’ Also, why did you try to make a rap when it is meant to be a poem. Following by your rhythm I could infer this to make it more inspiring to people and realistic to make people understand what it is actually about it.
London has a lot of faces some are in forgotten places you should never forget about those places some people are murdering others hopefully you are not one of those ’cause London is a beautiful city
London has many faces some are in unforgotten places you should come to London ’cause London is a beautiful city most people are warm heated!
My city has a lot of faces
What I see is beautiful life
Restaurant workers making spice
People living happy
Babies wearing nappies
Traffic,cars,speeding
Some people bleeding
Other people are needing
Food and water
I need some for my daughter
No more manslaughter
Windows are not clear
While others just drink beer
My house is near
The worst bits of London are
They are not very far
I brought my own car
Moving to another house
Seeing a ginormous mouse
My city has a lot of faces
My cities has a lot faces
Lots can be found from different places
There are no big shops around my area
Gotta use a car to get everywhere
I see a lot of faces

with some dark
by Gar Jun,Gillespie
Hi Gar Jun,
This is a promising start. I like the last line and final word “dark” which gives a sense of doom.
This is from Jonathan in Gillespie primary school
My city has a lot of places
some can be found full of races
The poor would be found looking down with a frown in forgotten places
pleading whilst bleeding with rough faces
I hope you liked it.
Thank you for sharing Jonathan. A powerful portrayal of the poor.

Thank you for sharing your poem, it is very encouraging
Your poem is very nice
This poem has really inspired me
My London has small and big people with bees
london
so much to see
so many places
so many faces
black or white
my home my family my life
london is my place
wow i love that so much its incredible

Nice poem, but maybe add puncuation to make it more snappy.
London
There are a lot of places
and faces
a lot to see
it is where i live
it is my home
my family
it is where i belong
and like to be
wow Chloe that’s so good
My city has a lot of faces
Tall buildings with a lot of graces
But there are other places
Some forgotten places and some not
My city has a lot of faces
Try then fail
Trying is good
lots of people should
when we try its not right
but it makes us look bright
when we fail we get upset
but we must change our mindset
failing hurts
but it helps us to lurn
A face
a face can be black or white
a face can be long or short
any face is a face
so don’t change yours

This is my poem.
My city has a lot of faces,
they’re in the street, they’re inside, they’re everywhere.
On big Ben they show the day.
My town is full of graces, my city has a lot of faces,
they leave a lot of traces, my city has a lot of faces.
Yes interesting to think about the traces left by the city and people. What did you have in mind?
My road has a lot of faces
some can be found under uncomfortable places,
and some can be found on top of roofs
flying away and leaving some white proof,
most will be behind glass
ready for the exam they are about to pass.
I liked this one because you showed your emotions toward football.
my city has a lot of faces
some familiar places
other peoples multicoloured braces
i see people on a diet
who want to cause a riot
others might like to be quiet
My city has many races,
Friendly faces,
Welcoming places,
No hidden cases,
No broken places,
My city has a lot of faces.
My city has a lot of faces
Worn out faces torn up places
I try to see the good side
So I bide my time I bide and bide and I see…
Blue hair faces

Great poem. It was really imaginative.
My city has many faces
Some are found in unknown places
Some faces love their surroundings
Some not so much but,
that does not change who they are
they are who they are and
no one can change that .
my city has a lot of food
and birds
sorry but i ran out of ideas so yeh
Hi Lucas. It takes time to write a poem. Aim for one phrase you’re happy with rather than a complete poem to start.
thx
good one
My city has a lot of faces- by Maia
My city has a lot of faces,
all of them are different races,
My city has some forgotten places,
some contain poor, homeless faces.
Some faces may shine,
others covered in grime,
With a head of blue hair,
or a heart filled with despair.
Many could be rich,
who gets whatever they wish,
Many could be poor,
who may wish but get no more.
My city has a lot of faces,
all of them are different races,
My city has a lot of faces,
poor,rich,white and black faces.
Thank you Maia. I like your use of repetition which I think helps to structure your poem and give it a rhythm.

Hi Mason,
Thank you for sharing your poem with us. I think the middle part where you compare the homeless and wealthy could be developed further.
My city has a lot of faces
Some can be found on the top of clock places
Lots of them smile
Some can be sad
But if we all work together we’ll be glad.
My city was a lot of faces
Some can be found on the wall and such places
Lots of them cry
But I feel if we try
We can all work together and be happy.
when you ask about the faces I see in this town
I see them all colours white mixed race and brown
I see them all religions I learn in R.E
they where headscarfes kippa all different to me
I don`t know where they live rich or poor
two sides of my city even places people ignore
But some times I see faces together as one
one big smiling face enjoying the sun
thousandsof communities just having fun
even block beef gangs but theres no need to run
stay where you are because people can change
the world doesnt need difference it needs variety and range
Hi Luella,
Fantastic poem. I like the variety you convey through the poem and the positivity.
hi luella
that is an amazing poem
this is my poem
my city has a lot of faces
lots of them coming from peculiar places
people with differences and different races
I look forward to reading your next poem.
this is really nice leonard it expresses lots of things about london
I really like Daniel and Zack’s one
I liked this poem because it truly spoke about London:}
My city is full of gangs, crimes, knives and more,
But my city my also has so much to offer in beautiful places,
So many different faces like races, sporty faces and different types of faces
But it also has a dark side with gangs, fangs, crimes and this is my city
My city London,
Thank you Tadiwa and Chima. Your poem shows the contrasting sides of London.
@Laurie Yerbury
I like your poem a lot -is it ok if I get some inspiration????
That was absolutely amazing I can not believe how powerful this is.
My area has a lot of faces,
Wood Green with its knives, bustle and treats.
Homes, where the audio of tranquility and screams never meet.
Sleepless nights, trains overhead, a home without graces.
My area has a lot of faces.
What a fabulous line: “Homes, where the audio of tranquility and screams never meet.” Thank you for sharing Kizzie.
Some lovely expressions here Henry. You also use rhyme to good effect like “sun” and “funds”. Thank you for sharing.
This is our poem from duncombe primary
My city has a lot of faces
Some are found in unforgettable places
Be grateful that god gave you faith
And remember that you are great.
my school has a lot of faces some are differant most are acctually
I understand when George says ‘My City’ because that means that he is a Londoner and that he was probably born in London. It’s all about beautiful buildings. Also, expensive stuff in most building especially Jewellery shop.
Yes he is Torey. Do you think it is a positive or negative poem Torey?
i really like daniel and zachs
poem
This is my favourite poem. I really enjoy it. I like that it has a lot of messages.
What are the messages Khadijah and Nabiha?
They laugh, they scream
Telling me who to be
Spending too much time looking at limousines,
Wasting all their money as we speak,
Kids stay home for safety
Limits and time
Places around us where they committed a crime
But we hug each other
Say its OK.
Leave those problem for another day…
This is a very a good poem and we really like the messages.
George, why in this poem do you want to talk about ‘My City’ Also, why did you try to make a rap when it is meant to be a poem. Following by your rhythm I could infer this to make it more inspiring to people and realistic to make people understand what it is actually about it.
Hi Raima, I like the way you are speculating on George the Poet’s intentions. I think he is aiming for realism as you suggest.
London has a lot of faces some are in forgotten places you should never forget about those places some people are murdering others hopefully you are not one of those ’cause London is a beautiful city
London has many faces some are in unforgotten places you should come to London ’cause London is a beautiful city most people are warm heated!
Your poems are very interesting and the descriptive language makes it very exciting to read.
i love this poem how did they think of this
Love it. Your poem is amazing!
My city has a lot of faces
What I see is beautiful life
Restaurant workers making spice
People living happy
Babies wearing nappies
Traffic,cars,speeding
Some people bleeding
Other people are needing
Food and water
I need some for my daughter
No more manslaughter
Windows are not clear
While others just drink beer
My house is near
The worst bits of London are
They are not very far
I brought my own car
Moving to another house
Seeing a ginormous mouse
My city has a lot of faces
My cities has a lot faces
Lots can be found from different places
There are no big shops around my area
Gotta use a car to get everywhere
I see a lot of faces
