Every year one student is crowned the FutureZone poet laureate. They are the winners of the competition. Here are the previous winners/laureates:
The 2015 Poet Laureate was Kezia Buzzard from Yerbury School with her poem “At the Funeral”
The 2014 Poet Laureate was Tommy Curson Smith from Hanover School with his poem “On the tip of your tongue”
The 2013 Poet Laureate was Aaina Siddique from Duncombe School with her poem “Their eyes met” (They instantly fell in love)
The 2012 Poet Laureate was Felix Samuels from Hanover School with this poem “Bluebird’s Song”
The 2011 Poet Laureate was Drunay Marshall from Montem School with this poem “Journey of Life”
The 2010 Poet Laureate was Delilah Sykes from Gillespie School with this poem
“The Journey to Utopia”
And the 2009 Poet Laureate was Eileen Maguire from Yerbury School with this poem

I love poetry and I am capable at making my poems exciting. I thought all the poems were really good!
“Their eyes met” was really nice because you used one syllable for each line.
I just love poems! They inspire me to become a poet and just be like William Blake so one day I will be like him.
I love poetry because it brings you into a whole different world and William Blake has really,really good poetic skills .I
