Mother to son , personally is better than harlem. its more insparational and has more of a message to it.
Why do you think this Erin? I actually found Harlem more inspiring.

What Happens To A Dream ?
Does it get deleted like an app on a phone,
Or sit there just,
ALONE.
Or does it suffocate under rocks of thoughts ,
Or cry and cry in distraught,
Maybe it just floats in a lonely part of your brain,
thinking that it’s insane.
Maybe it just has a painful death…

I think that the first poem Mother to Son is better than the second poem Harlem because Harlem only talks about a deferred dream whilst the poem Mother to Son inspires us to never give up and keep on going.
I like Mother to Son more because it tells you to be motivated and I think it’s positive.On the other and Harlem is negative because it is about giving up dreams and bad things happening to it. I like how Langston Hughes used strong adjectives to describe what happens to the dream because it adds more detail to the story.

What happens to a dream deffered?
Does it walk away?
To a place you’ve never been?
Or does it dissapear?
To a place its never been?
Or maybe it just leaves you,

Or leaving you not understanding,
like a different language.

Interesting Shan Shan. I think Harlem is inspiring! Think again about why Nike chose to use it for their advert. Consider the message they think the poem is sending us.
