All you see is outside of me: my small smile, the flaterd shell, thebrowny eyes. A plain and old type of me
But inside there’s another me , bored till play the uncomfortable type of me.
And inside there’s another me, All shy and nervous sort of me.
And inside theres another me ,full of ceek the class clown one of me.
And inside theres another me all scared and jelous a secret one of me.
And inside there’s another me one who dosent get enough attention a sad sort of and me
and deepest down kept secret a brave doll, the boy that shines inside of me
Thank you Daniel. The last line of your poem seems to shift the tone making it seem positive.
You don’t see who I am. You see the one who is polite and kind and kind and sweet, all perfect and tame. I f you saw who I really was, you wouldn’t think the same.
I am angry stressed, I feel like everything is wrong. I am tight and tense, and the day feels to long. I frown and I scowl but only to myself. I don’t want to share my anger with anyone else.
I am shy and timid, and I hunch up small. Everyone around me seems so tall. I feel so afraid of the world I live in, but I mostly get scared when other people turn livid.
I can always seem to find my sense of fun. I am filled with joy when I laugh and I run. I mess about with all my friends, at this point I never want the day to end.
I look out the window every day. My mind is a whirl as my head runs away. I sit and think in my on sort of daydream when my thoughts in my head shine like a very bright sunbeam.
I feel jealousy rising up inside of me. All my friends seem to have one an unknown victory. they are always so much better and brighter and brave. Ton comparison I am just a girl with things I don’t have to crave.
I am bossy and stern and I yell at my brother. To be kind and polite I just won’t bother. I snap and I shout and boss people about, even when they call me stupid and stout.
deep down I know that I am bold and brave. I am strong and happy, the girl I really crave. The girl I know I am the girl a can be. The girl tucked inside, the girl called poppy.
Thank you Poppy. It’s great to see how your poem is influenced by Rooney’s themes but you’ve made the structure your own.
Give some thought to line breaks as I think it could make your poem even more powerful.
A tree won’t grow itself
Well, girl, I’ll have to tell you:
Life for me hasn’t been sleek road.
You see, it’s like being picked up or being blown away and stuck in a spot forever.
It’s had fallen branches,
And devastating dastardly gales and hurricanes in it until it’s got one root pulling you back to the ground-
Atrocious.
Yet, even though I’ve grown old,
I’m still going.
And even though my branches are falling,
I keep going.
Even in the darkest times,
Or the most grizzliest storms,
I still carry on, just like you should too.
And let me remind one more time,
Life has not been a sleek road.
Thank you Zed. It’s a clever idea to make the focus a tree and growth.
Life for me
Ain’t no money tree,
Its got no leaves
Certainly not for me.
It’s like a lucky dip,
You never know
what you gonna get,
I could be lucky
Or it could be a tragedy.
It’s like a sea,
It could be calm
Or it could be mad.
Life for me ain’t no money tree.
Life for me ain’t been no KFC,
It’s had veins in it,
And bones,
And feathers choking me.
Life at times,
is good or bad,
But always,
I’ve kept on eatin,
Even vegetables,
And sour kiwis,
And trying new things.
So don’t put down your fork,
Because some days there is KFC.
Wow. we have so many talented poets!
I think this short film is amazing because its shows resilience at its finest
Thank you Isaac. Resilience is an important concept in the film. Can you provide examples of the characters showing resilience?
School is a place of togetherness
No matter your race or place
We all help each other out
In times of doubt
Keep your kindness in the light
Where it can shine bright
Share your knowledge
Help people gain their courage
Always make friends
And help people mend
No matter where you are
We are all united
A lovely poem Maryamo. You can see the inspiration of United Way but it’s very much your own poem.
A common goal a role to play
We should listen to each other
We should help each other
We should respect each other
We live to give and not to take
Stop bullying
Help people
Help people
Thank you Mohamed.
