I think that now I’ve read it through it makes more sense why there were a lot of questions. I think that the speaker is talking about their past and maybe that the speaker might be telling it to James to make him happy or maybe the speaker is telling James when he is old and wants to remember his funny past.
I liked this poem because it was like the poet was talking to James, reminding him of his victory. It sounds like the poet is a proud coach or parent. My favourite part is the beginning because it describes as if the coach/parent is racing with him. Another my favourite parts is at the end, where it says
‘Think only of the goal
Run straight
Run high
Run hard
Save Nothing
And Finish’
because it tells us that we should only look for the goal.
I liked this poem very much. i wrote a poem inspired by to James .
the politics goal you have always dreamed of
the one you will never let go of
the one you know you’ll complete
somewhere near or far
you’ll get there in the end
the birds keep rising so will you
they come down every once in a while.
they come back up in the end
soaring through the skies
with a whole beautiful life in front of them
that’s where you’ll be
that’s where you’ll go
that’s where stay
This is a message to my future self inspired by the poem To James.
Dear John,
Have you found something you want to do for your job or whatever you want to do? Well if you have, then keep on trying and if you do that then you will have a chance to succeed. So if your just about to give up on something then I hope this encourages you!

A letter to my future self
Dear me (aged 21)
How are you? Has your career finally taken off?
How are Mum & Dad ? Is Artie okay
You probably don’t remember those days you went to school and cried. Felling like nobody cared about you.
Suffering
How is the planet, are there people on mars yet?
Did you achieve your dreams?
Let nothing hold you back

Dear John,
If you have found a job or anything like that. You should keep on trying even if you fail the first time and you may have a chance. So remember DON’T GIVE UP!
Hi if I could write a message to my self it would be,live a life you will remember and you don’t get what you want you get what you earn.I would probably say that to myself when I turn 18 because that’s when I have to be really responsible.
I like this poem a lot so I decided to write a poem to my future self:
To my future self,
I wonder if much has changed in 50 years,
Nowadays we drive in cars,
Do cars drive themselves?
Nowadays we use electronics to talk to each other,
Is there another invention made for talking to people?
Nowadays we use lockers with keys,
Are there some sort of new locks?
Dear my future self,
I hope your having an great time.I know it maybe hard for what your going through so I want to give you some advice.Keep calm but don’t think about the negative think about the positive.I hope you have lots of best friends and just make the most of it

The poem To James is very fascinating because it is almost as if the person telling the poem is doing the race with James and sharing the same feelings and emotions.
I like this poem because it is motivates James to keep running and never give up when he gets tired .The author also gave James tips for running eg.
run straight,
look straight ahead,
think only of the goal.
I noticed personification, metaphors and repetition (run…).
I thought that there was a lot of questions
Yes, there were. Does that tell us anything about the speaker?

That’s an interesting thought. It certainly seems to be referencing the past at points.
It tells us that the speaker is very proud of James because of the language he uses and tells us with passion.
Yeah Marwa I agree with you.

amy and jamila
I like how it is different to other poems because the others describes that they aren’t treated properly and this is more like a conversation.
I know what you mean although Mother to Son is like a conversation too. How are the different?
i mean that this one is not adressing that they are black.
The lines are very short. This gives it nice rhythm. This is my favourite poem because it is about sport and because my name is James
why do you think that James

Jenny what a phenomanal poem!
I like this poem a lot. I want to write one like it
I like this poem as well. I might write a poem based on this.
I agree with you Ibrahim.
I hope you do.
This poem is very interesting and the questions make the poems more realistic.
I really enjoyed this poem and thought that it was about motivation and how he did it before and he can do it this time.
It is also how he CAN do it.
It has a nice rhythm because the lines are so short and it has no verses.

(when you were 10 years old)
I thought of a short poem too
Do you remember
How you won
That last match
20 to 6
Do you remember
How you felt
After the match
Full of joy
To future me,
Am I scoring goals galore
or are my dreams washed upon the sea
Do I hear cheers when the ball scrapes the net
or is my glory to its end
Am i tall or am i small
do i have have one leg or two?
are my hopes still rising
or are they shattered on the floor?

I like this poem because it has feeling and deeper meaning
I like this poem as well. So I decided that I should make one.
Do you remember
How you saved me
When I was in the fire
How you flung your energy
On me
Determined and focused
On just one thing
Me

Dear future me,
What amazing things have i achieved in my upcoming years? What job do i have? Who is the Prime minister?
I hope that me and my family is alright in the future and I can’t wait to see what it beholds for us.
What Country’s do i travel to? Are there flying cars? What are the new inventions? What new movies are there? Do i live in a mansion?
I wonder what awesome things the future will have and how it can make an effect on how we live.

I like how the poem had no paragraphs to show how quick it was because it was talking about running a race so you go really fast.
I really like the poem because it is very thoughtful and it also has a bit of repetition in it.

I like it too.
Do you remember
How you lost
That last competition
Do you remember
How you felt happy
Not at all angry
Do you remember
How you still won
In your Heart
Because if you have the faith
You are the best
Always believe yourself and don’t let anyone tell you what to do
I like this poem because it makes me feel like i am in my own poem world.
Also i like running and the poem is very interesting.
I think this poem is similar to the other two poems because they are all saying to keep on going no matter what life throws at you.

Undefeated Boxing Champion
My punch connects,
The pain shows in their eyes,
Sweat dripping like rain off my neck,
Footwork pin-point perfect,
Watching, knocked out.
Teeth cracking like glass,
Everyone chanting my name,wonderful,
The crash, head smacking onto the canvas,
Too tired, panting breathlessly.
I feel like a winner,
On top of the world,
Im an undefeated champion,
I will always be victorious!
