Colour Studies: Squares with Concentric Circles

Colour Studies squares with concentric circles
By Wassily Kandinsky:
We like this piece of art because it makes me think that all the circles represent different
emotions. It also makes us think about lots of different colours making a big colourful hole. Looking at this painting makes us think that it he drew it when he was a child, but we know that Kandinsky went to art school when he was 30. The painting makes us feel happy and joyful as it looks very colourful.

We like the details of the picture “The Old Guitarist” by Picasso because it looks really nice and cool. We dislike the head on the side and the colours because it doesn’t fit very well as it is all tones of blue and it makes us feel sad.

What we like about the picture is that there is a lot of eye-catching colours. What we also like about it is that there is a lot of different shapes. What we dislike about this is that he has not drawn the circle properly. The third thing that we like about this is that he had organized the colours and shapes in the right place to make his masterpiece. 1 fact that we have learnt about is that Kandinsky would put on music and paint what he could hear.
The piece of art I loved was from Kandinsky because his art was just a variety of different colours that could possibly show different emotions or feelings that he might have had in his life. To be honest, when I first looked at it, I thought it was a three year old collage from nursery. When you look at it for a longer period of time, you start to see the different effects it has and that no, its not a three year old piece of art, it is an example of a world famous artist’s way of blending colours and making art.
