I think it is better as a poem because it is in verses and almost makes it seem like a song and I think as a dancing bear clapping and dancing to a whistle. It gives a better flow to read as a poem and I can still get a good picture in my head.
i think that is write because i agree with you.
I agree because it is in verse and it is better that way
it is sad that they make a living animal who has a hart to dance for humans and for our there entertainment
They paid a penny for the dance
But what they saw was a dancing kangaroo
hopping threw the hoops
whilst skiping
i dont knd of get tht may you please make that klear.

they paid a penny for the dance
but what they saw was a tired bear
chained by the neck
with cold grey eyes dreaming for freedom
They paid a penny for the dance
But what they saw was dancing dog
jumping threw the fire hoops
whilst chewing a bone
They paid a penny for the dance
but what they saw was not the bears part
as if you gazed into his eyes you could see he had a wild heart.
oh stop it ! so sad so sad.
they paid a penny for the dance
but what the saw was a dancin cat
breathing threw water
whilst videoing
They paid a penny for the dance
But what they saw was desperate sadness
With grey eyes like a hurricane in motion
And a pool of mournful melancholy
great discriptive language selma
They paid a penny for the dance
But what they saw was dancing dog
jumping threw the fire hoops
whilst chewing a bone

They paid a penny for the dance
But what they saw was a depresses scared
bear with bloodshot eyes
Starving to death begging for some food
it is a fantastic poem henryB. it flows perfectly as a reader. You put lots of thoughts into it. I can imagine a great picture in my head about a bear that has depresses scared and blood shot eyes.
keep up the good work!!!!
good words took them from charles dickens you did
I think only demestik anamals should be trained.Otherwise it is just plane crule!
but if they enjoyed it the yeah why not
I’m against such an idea of training bears as it is not like training a dog or cat as they are bred by humans. Bears are naturally scared of humans and when I went to Canada a girl I met was chased by a bear because it was brought up near humans so it wasn’t afraid of them and it usually would run away so it would have been a bad idea to train it and it would be capable of more power. It is also unfair on the bear as it could not run away because it wouldn’t know how to feed itself and take care of himself. You may think that it looked like it was enjoying itself but it was just being trained to do that and I strongly disagree.
I personally agree with you Ella because nomber 1 bears are one of the most dangrous Mammals on earth, and is nown as preditors. The secound reason why i agree with this comment is beacuase we as humans, would not like animals training us for there own enjoyment, so why are we doing that to them and again it might of looked like that animal was enjoying it but in reality it acuatly wasn’t beacuse it was trained to do that. so i also strongly disagree with animals being trained for humans enjoyment.
greatt but is still agree
i truly agree
ella
100%
I think such ideas as a dancing bear is disgusting/
they paid a penny for the dance but all they saw was anger and shame from the poor little bear pleading and pleading for home and repair!!
They paid a penny for the dance
But what they saw was a baby.
Laughing and smiling
Which made the bear fell very happy.
I agree with you selma because the author put lots of thought in yo it
They paid a penny for the dance
But what they saw was a baby.
Laughing and smiling
Which made the bear very happy.
interesting tye
my mother saw a dancing bear
by the schoolyard a day in june.
the keeper stood woth chain and bar
and whistle pipe and played a tune
I really like your poem charles causley
my mother saw a dancing bear
they paid a
They paid a penny for the dance
But what the saw was not a cheerful dancing bear
Only an animal in pain and misery thinking
“Where do I belong? Where oh where?”
They paid a penny for the dance
but what they saw was an emotional eye
that dropped each tear
which made my heart cry.
very good like it
My mother saw a dancing bear
They paid a penny for the dance ,
but what they saw was not a dancing bear ,
an aching heart ,
and falling down his cheek…a tear
They paid a penny for dance
but what they saw was an unhappy bear who made a tear
that was trained to swirl and twirl
but did it in fear.
My Mother Saw a Dancing Bear
They paid a penny for the dance
But what they saw was a tear in the bear’s eye
The keeper said the bear was happy
That was nothing but a lie
They paid a penny for the dance,
but what they saw was not a dancing bear,
an aching heart ,
and a tear falling down his cheek
They paid a penny for the dance
but what they saw was not a cheerful bear
they saw innocent in his tearful eyes
because the whistle and the keeper were a evil pair
As I read this poem, I wiped my tear stained face. The moment I read the first paragraph I felt upset by the message of the poem. John McCrae, who wrote the poem, also fought in the war. Consequently, the war led to people dying. As I read the rest of the poem, I felt fortunate that people died in the war for the benefit of the new generation.
great love your poem
you be a great poet
