and it is so brutal fishes that lived in the water because every one put there wastes
    yuck.

  2. The bridge is very dull for me and it is not the type of panting I would have on my wall Is it your favourite .

  3. Hi,I have a question for you why did they have houses on the bridge. I looked at the paintings and my faverite painting was Katrina Slade because they look really interesting.

    1. I think that Katrina Slade has a passion because her art is creative and also I think she has a great imagination. In my opinion I think her

  4. I liked it when we have to choose what side is the best =]

    🙂

  5. I found out that there were secret tunnels on the right side of the bridge. And you can build sandcastles on the right side also.

  6. first, I thought that the painting will be boring but then I saw the painting but then WOW I was amazed the tunnels the the reflection it was just amazing.

  7. The painting made me feel relaxed because it was a painting of a calm River Thames and the surrounding city.

  8. I like the old London bridge because its different and its nice to have something unique. I don’t think its something you would put on your wall but its interesting and fascinating to study and look at. After I heard about the North and South sides I wanted to learn more.

  9. In class we discussed the differences between the city and the other side of London Bridge. We followed this up by having a class debate about which side was better. We decided that country-life was more exciting then city life.

We really enjoyed how the artist showed reflection on the water.

  10. I cant believe that there’s houses on the bridge and heads on spikes on houses
how did the boat’s go under the bridge.

  11. this photo is not ideal for me, because it dose not pop with colour but I think that the artist captured the seen of London bridge .

    1. Hi Molly Rose,

Yes, the houses hanged over the Thames. They also threw some unpleasant stuff into the Thames straight from their house.

    1. I agree with Ayub. I wonder if it has something to do with the materials used in the houses.
What do you think the houses are made out of Ayub?

  12. This week we studied Claude de Jongh’s painting of old London Bridge. The children discussed how the bridge was different from bridges today and what it might have been like living on the bridge. They were fascinated to learn that the head’s of traitors were displayed on spikes on the bridge.

We compare the architecture of the buildings on both sides of the bridge and wondered who might live there.

We considered what it might have been like to walk over the bridge on our way to a performance at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
