10.the message for the film is that the little boy worked hard for the rocket to make the rocket fly which was his dream. This shows me that if i really want something i have to work hard for it.
    11. Yes, because having a goal/dream is very good because it motivates you. Without a dream/goal you won’t have something to work towards. No, because when you get older you’ll want to achieve something else. When you get old you’ll might have a new dream also when you’re old you don’t loose motivation, sometimes you gain motivation.

  2. Achieving your dream(s) is not always an easy thing. The man/boy in the story had to save up all his money from the lemonade stand and even then he was probably imagining it. To achieve your own dream(s), you should think about what you might need, one thing at a time, so that eventually you should have everything you need for your dream to come true.
Some dreams, however, are almost impossible in the near future, such as going beyond our galaxy.

  3. 1)If something is coin-operated it means you have to insert a certain amount of money for it to work.
    2)Mostly arcades i think.

    lot of them.
6)I believe that he’s thinking it was a waist of money an that never should of gone on it.
7)The director fast forwards time. You can see this because you see the kid at the lemonade stand an the he turns into a teenager then a man an then finally a old man.
8)Because the old man inserted all his money that he earned from the lemonade stand, i think it will fly him up to space.
9)I think because it was the boy who always wanted to go to space.
10)I think the old man did fly in the rocket.
11)I think the message of the story/film is that reams can come true.

    6. He was sad because he thought he was going to go to space.
    7. By making him older.
    8. Because it’s showing how long it took to get all the money.
    9. Yes I think he really flew in the rocket because he only out one coin in to make it work and it only bumped around but when he put more money in he flew to space.
    10. It’s “ don’t give your dreams up!”

  6. 1. Coin-operated is a something that needs a coin to work
    2. Most things you find in an arcade is coin-operated (toy machines, fake car rides etc.)
    3. He is thinking he will be able to go to space and land on the moon
    4. The director shows the boy getting older and older by making the him change every few seconds.
    5. The boy (who is now a man) will come back from space feeling happy and satisfied.
    6. The man changed back into a boy because what he did when he was old was exactly what he wanted to do when he was a chid.
    7. I think the man did fly in a rocket because he didn’t when he was a boy and he was very sad but when he was a mam he seemed happy so I’m pretty sure it did happen.
    8. That one day your dreams will come true.
    9. Yes, there are dreams we can hold in for all our lives.
    10. If you have had a dream for a very long time, you should definitely not let it go. Try your hardest to make what you want happen.

  7. 1. A coin operated machine is where you have to insert a coin to play on it. Games in arcades are often coin operated.
    2. That he’s really into astronauts, and wants to go into space.
    3. The play rocket he’s sitting into might launch him into space.
    4. Yes, but it was a car one, at London Zoo.
    5. He’s dreaming that the rocket may take him to space if he puts enough money in.
    6. When he is at his lemonade store the director shows you that he is getting older, by using time lapse. He’s puts together lots of single shots of the man at different ages.
    7. That he could one day, when he has enough money, he’ll be able to make the machine take off.
    8. I think he might of died and the last scene is him imagining going to space as a young boy. So he re-lives his dream. No, i don’t think he does ride in the rocket really.
    9. Maybe he should have followed his dream properly, and asked someone to help him become a spaceman, before he got old, instead of just dreaming about it.

  8. The Dream That Never Died

The clock struck three, but I still couldn’t sleep. Curious, I got up and looked out of my bedroom window. I had never seen my street at night before. The road was lit by the dim light of the lamposts, but other than that it was nearly pitch black.

A few black cats slinked down the pavement, searching scraps, a lone car drove round the corner, disappearing out of sight and a light flickered as somebody went to bed; I was taking note of everything that happened, but I soon got bored.

Then I looked up, and saw the stars. Millions of them. Wherever you were, whatever you were doing, they were things you could always see. Then I thought about dad. Faraway in Australia, could he see them as well? Was he, right at that moment, looking up at them and thinking about me?

I turned around, and looked at a note I had, framed on my mantelpiece. ‘I will miss you, but don’t worry; I will never forget you. One day we will see eachother again, I promise. Love, Dad.’

    20 YEARS LATER:

‘I promise as well, Dad…’ I repeatedly muttered. My boss looked sharply at me, so I hastily pretended I wasn’t daydreaming, and continued typing my newspaper report. After that night, I had made my mind: I would save up and visit Dad. I looked down at the report I was typing and sighed: my daydreaming mind had once again taken over, and I had started typing the words ‘Dad’ and ‘stars’ randomly. ‘Just 1 more month, and you’ll have enough money… Just one more month, and you’ll have enough money…’ I told myself.

    1 MONTH LATER:

I got off the plane and ran into Dad’s arms. He had changed a lot, and so had I, but i guess that’s just how things work.
